November 6, 2010 – Life Focus Communications is proud to announce that it has been presented with the distinct honor of the Emmy® award from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for its production “Education Under Fire.”   Executive Producer Mona Hennein, Producers Michelle Jahnke, Marilyn Heisler, and Paul Bieschke, and Host Dan Meyer, were recognized for an outstanding achievement in the Informational Programming category.    Life Focus’ excellent quality in both content and production rose above dozens of other applicants and five other nominees. In just two seasons, the Life Focus series receives its fourth Emmy nomination!  The latest nomination, "Education Under Fire," is dedicated to the children of the Chicago Public School system.    This episode addresses how violence in Chicago effects the lives and education of many innocent children.   The Midwest/Chicago Emmy award ceremony is on November 6, 2010.    Of its four nominations, Life Focus is the recipent of 2 Emmys: "A New Kind of Normal"- Midwest/Chicago Chapter "Living by the Book"- Michigan Chapter

Life Focus has been featured in the Elmhurst, Illinois local paper The Doings. Our host, Pastor Dan Meyer, was the subject of the coverage of Life Focus' recent Emmy Award win. The following is an exerpt from the article: "Christ Church of Oak Brook's Senior Pastor Dan Meyer can now add Emmy Award-winner to his resume. Meyer and the staff of Life Focus Productions were presented with an Emmy by the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for their production of 'A New Kind of Normal,' the first episode of the second season of the Life Focus magazine-style television show. Grant monies used to expose the link between violence and academic performance   Imagine being afraid to play at your neighborhood park, pool or basketball court. For many Chicago children, this is the case. Places that were created for family recreational use are now territories for street gangs. This exposure to inner-city youth violence shows a direct link to poor academic performance and student behavior. With a grant received by the Khesed Foundation, Life Focus decided to address the issues urban children face.
