Ron Hicks is a lifer behind the walls of the Louisiana State Penitentiary. Although many of those on the outside say he deserves his sentence for the crime he committed, Warden Burl Cain believes that a life time is too long a time to live without any hope. Hicks along with many other prisoners participate in intense programs that Warden Cain has implemented- programs that involve a rigorous daily routine requiring hard work and intense study. The difference this program has made on those living here has caused other state prisons to take notice. In this episode of Life Focus, we will shed light on the inner workings on the Louisiana State Penitentiary-a facility dedicated not just incarceration but to rehabilitation.

I was watching this show and I was very amazed how GOD changes lives inside the the State Penitentary. If all the States & Federal Penitentiary in the United States could see this video and show everyone that works inside these Penitentiary.Only GOD use this chrisitan man to changes the inside the facilities of this Louisiana State Penitentiary so many lives could trust him and accomplish what GOD wants him to do. My heart goes to all those inmates, because my son is carcerated in Florida. I pray for all inmates so GOD could touches there lives. I hope and pray that anyone who had watched this program or show touch there heart and do the same thing what Mr. Cain done for those inmates. Mr.Cain your reward will be blessed in Heaven. I have been on the inside and unfortunately the only reason prisons have programs inside them is for the MONEY! Officials in law enforcement do not care if a person is guilty or innocent. The system exsist ONLY to charge arrest and incarcerate nad not to rehabilitate! There does NOT have to be any physical evidence to prove a person guilty, when you are charged you are guilty
There needs to be more programs on the outside funded by the government and law enforcement which gives a person a place to stay, continue to help them through outside counseling and any treatment they need, and also with financial assistance because NO housing or apartment complex's want to allow felons housing and NOT many employers really WANT to or even do employ ex offenders especially if the offense was a violent one or of a sexual offense. While I do think that warden Burl Cain is on the right track I also think as I said programs need to be going on the outside. I am in Illinois and i can say from experience that the only place there is actually help on the outside in my state is in Chicago. I pray for all and wish all blessing from GOD!

KUDOS! 5 Stars to person in Illinois I know first hand that is true and I think all these prosecutors who have no physical current DNA evidence ot they prosecute someone in a case where there is NO way other than an accusation to prove a prosecution then they should be prosecuted and made to go behind bars in general population and experience first hand what it's like to be humiliated stripped searched and your freedom taken away and then not be able to live in society and be free afterward! It is a known fact according to society if you get accused and you don't have the money to bribe or pay for a "good" attorney then you ARE guilty even if you are innocent!
Yea I say 5 STARS to the people from Illinois I too am someone who knows first hand that what they say is true! Illinois is one of the most crooked states and the county of Jefferson is one which will charge arrest and get a plea of guilt or if go to trial will get a conviction just based alone on an accusation there does NOT have to be any physical proof just an accusation will get you into jail or in prison! I challenge the federal government to investigate Jefferson county IL. and their "hidden" or "lost" records and interview people who either plead guilty or went to trial and was found guilty! the first person who commented knows this first hand and Lisa Madigon's office does NOT care!The last States Attorney in Jefferson county had a 100% conviction rate because of this.

I thank those who comment on my statement it is true Jefferson county IL is crooked and all it takes to get into jail or prison is an accusation then it's a case of let's make a deal or take it to trial you WILL loose! I know that the states attornies office in Jefferson county IL will NEVER be investigated or held accountable for the innocent people they charged and sent to jail or prison and ruined their life! But I will say this to the officials in Jefferson county IL rather you believe it or not there is a GOD and there is a HELL and you WILL meet GOD and then your final judgment will be worse that that you put others to! I pray GOD mercy and blessing on all and for those who have abused their power and sent innocent people to prison I pray GOD's mercy to you and for your salvation!
Hi I am a prison chaplain in the Far North of Australia. We are currently running Bible School in our prison I would like a copy of the DVD to show our management to enable me to coordinate a Christian unit and see offenders become pastors and do The Lords work inside. Praise God for Mr Cain
