When Barbara Ellen tragically left this earth, her five brothers and only sister had to cope with the painful chasm left behind. According to the National Organization of Women, three women a day are murdered by their intimate partner, making up 30 percent of female homicides. In this episode the Lynch family describes how they learned to cope with unspeakable grief after struggling with depression and anger. And so that she would never be forgotten they founded a charity in her name - BELA, or Barbara Ellen Lynch Associates - to help prevent this kind of tragedy from happening to others.

I am a concern mother, my daughter has gone through this same thing, but she has gotten divorce but the X-husband stills bother her by telling her he is going to take the children away. I am concern because I found a letter from my daughter saying that he told her that he was going to rape the boys (she has 2 boys). She left town 400 miles away but he still text her and always telling her he is going to take the kids away. She does not know where to go to report this, she reported it to the police but they told her he is not here so we can't do anything until he is in town.
I wished the story went into more detail about their faith. It was mostly a very sad story of the loss of the life of Barbara. But also the good that has come out of the pain and loss. Recently a friend came to me and told me of her husbands abuse and I encourged her to leave and get help. But she too has been bound by fear and that will keep her trapped. I hope she dosnt end up like Barbara but fear is something that keeps you from leaving.
